Archive Configuration – Local File System
There are three ways of configuring a local file system archive with eFORMz:
To add an archive provider to eFORMz using the Director Toolkit, navigate to the eFORMz Main Menu from the eFORMz Composer, and select one of the following:
Host Tools > Local Director Toolkit (Windows)
Host Tools > AS400 > Director Toolkit (iSeries)
Host Tools > Unix > Director Toolkit (Unix/Linux)
Once the Director Toolkit displays, switch to the Archives tab and select the Add button:
The Archive Configuration dialog box will display. Enter a name in the Archive Name field and select the Add button from the Properties field:
The Archive Property dialog box will display. Enter a value in the Value field to name the content within the archive (the folder name):
The BaseDirectory will correspond with the project’s directory. In this example, that is C:\Minisoft\eFORMz_6\Projects\Archives.
Select OK when complete. Select Save before exiting:
NOTE: Configuring the Local File System Archive with the Director Toolkit makes the specified archive global, that is, it will be usable by multiple projects.
To add an archive provider to eFORMz using the Archives.xml file, access the file in the Minisoft > eFORMz_6 folder.
From there, you will see the following archive configured:
<?xml version=“1.0”encoding=“UTF-8”?> <Archives> <Archive Name="Test Archive - External" Provider="File System"> <Content Active="true" Expanded="true" Type="Constant" Format="Text" ID="BaseDirectory"> <Operand Type="Constant" InputEnabled="false" Value="archive0" Encrypted="false" /> </Content> </Archive> </Archives>
The Name attribute of the Archive tag changes the name of the archive.
The Value attribute of the Operand tag names the content within the archive.
NOTE: Configuring the Local File System Archive in the Archives.xml file makes the specified archive global, that is, it will be usable by multiple projects.
To configure an archive within the eFORMz Composer, navigate to the Archives tab of the Project Properties by right clicking the project and selecting Properties > Archives:
From the Archives tab, select New:
Enter a value in the Name field and then edit the Properties:
Select the browse button to identify the Base directory for the archive:
The archive will display in the Archives field:
NOTE: Configuring the Local File System Archive in the eFORMz Composer will make the archive accessible only by the project it has been configured with.
