How to setup SECURITY/3000 to receive
logons from MINISOFT's ODBC?
*NOTE* Minimum VESOFT version should be
V29.00420.
From the SECURITY/3000 side:
-
ODBC logons *must* include a HPJOBNAME (sessionname) as part of the
logonID; e.g. JOE,ODBC.DEMO. This logonID
can optionally have a SECURITY/3000 password. To add this type of logon
to the SECURITY/3000 database, from MPEX, enter the following:
%SEC ADD JOE,ODBC.DEMO;YESPASS;VEPASS=yourpass
-
Edit the HELLO.DATA.VESOFT file $CONFIG
section to include:
$CONFIG NETWORK CHECK @,@.@,@
-
Turn on VESOFT's HELLO TRAP:
From MPEX
%BACKG STARTJOB (* If BACKG is *not*
running *)
%BACKG START,HELLO
-
Ensure that MINISOFT's listener JCL is
running:
:STREAM MSJOB.MM.MINISOFT
From MINISOFT's ODBC PC side:
-
Go to ODBC Administrator and select
from the DATA SOURCE window MSCARD (HP3000 Data Access Drivers (32
bit)).
-
Click on the SETUP tab, then, click on
the CONNECTION tab and enter the appropriate information; i.e.
SERVERNAME, SERVERPORT, LOGIN Info; USER, ACCOUNT, GROUP, *JOB NAME* and
MPE passwords, if any.
-
Next, click on the SECURITY tab and
enter the SECURITY/3000 password, if any, then, click on the OK tab to
accept.
**NOTE** Of course, if the SECURITY/3000
password changes on the HP e3000 side; e.g. due to obsolescence or with
%SEC CHANGE userset;YESPASS;VEPASS=1,yourpass
the SECURITY tab should also reflect the
change to *yourpass*.
H) Finally, from the SHORTCUT TO ODBC
ICON, click on it and try the
newly added ODBC logon.
