Installation Release Notes (2.2)

  Client Installation (Windows)

  1. Insert the CDROM.
  2. Click start, run.
  3. Browse to: jdbc221_win32.exe
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Client Installation (Unix)

  1. mkdir -p /opt/minisoft
  2. cd /opt/minisoft
  3. tar -xf /{path_to_tar}/jdbc22760.{platform}.tar

When using SELINUX, you may see the following error message when trying to use JDBC:

cannot restore segment prot after reloc: Permission denied

To correct this, enter the following command:

chcon -t texrel_shlib_t lib3kjdbc.so.22760-*

Admin Installation

  1. Only install this application were one would be needing to access the catalog and schema editor.
  2. Insert the disk.
  3. Click start, run.
  4. Type; A:\ADMIN.EXE (A being the letter of your floppy drive)
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Server Installation

  1. Disk 3 contains the files needed for a Server installation. No emulator is needed for this install.
  2. Insert the disk.
  3. Click start, run.
  4. Type; A:\HPSETUP.EXE (A being the letter of your floppy drive)
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

General Notes

The Server Installation creates a sample database and populates the customer table.
The database that is created is called: MSCARD.MM.MINISOFT
