FAQ

  • Using an SSH Tunnel
  • An installation file (MSI) can be created for your convenience in the wide deployment of SecureWrapper.  The installation can pre-configure the required parameters and create the proper shortcuts.

up Installation

To test SecureWrapper and establish the parameters needed for communications, use a command prompt from your local system:

  • Begin configuring an SSH Connection
    SecureWrapper2 config sn=default ha=cave sa=elm3 sp=22
  • Adding tunnels
    SecureWrapper2 add sn=default tn=1 hp=32630 lp=32630
    SecureWrapper2 add sn=default tn=2 hp=32631 lp=32631
  •  Removing a configuration
    SecureWrapper2 remove sn=default
Commands
config Create a new session.
add Add a tunnel to a session.
remove Remove an existing session
  If no command is given, the interactive logon screen is displayed.

Parameters
sn Session Name  (an arbitrary text name) used to identify a specific pair of host systems used to provide communications. Up to 10 tunnels may share the same session.
tn Tunnel ID (an arbitrary text name) used to identify a specific port pair.
hp TCP Port on remote host. The port number of service name may be used.
lp TCP Port on local system to which your local application will connect. The port number of service name may be used.
ha IP address or host name of the remote host with which your application will communicate.
sa Address of the SSHd server that will both authenticate your connection and provide encryption services.
sp TCP Port on SSHd server used when establishing the tunnels. The port number of service name may be used.

up Using

  • SecureWrapper2 may be started from a command prompt or shortcut:
    SecureWrapper2 sn=default
  • Enter logon information for SSH server.
  • Click "Activate"
