Reprint App

A do-over for your forms and labels

For the most part, your business process runs smoothly. Yet, every now and then, chaos strikes. Your printer jams in the middle of a large print job, damaging several forms or completely stopping the job in its tracks. If your printer doesn’t jam, it runs out of toner, making the print on your forms too faint to read. As if that weren’t enough, forms can easily get lost in the warehouse. On top of that, customers may misplace a form and like another one sent to them. Accidents happen, and when they do, you want to be able to hit a button and reprint the forms and labels you need. With Minisoft’s Reprint App, you can do exactly that.

Minisoft’s Reprint App works like this. Let’s say you have an eFORMz project that produces a packing slip. You can configure this project to print while also adding it to a file archive, which saves the packing slip using a unique identifier. All of your printed files become accessible from this archive folder. Here’s where the Reprint App comes in. It generates a web form, accesses the file archive and allows you to print files based upon a range. You can enter a specific file name, or certain criteria to determine the range of files you would like to print. From there, you select the “Count qualified files” button, to verify how many files you’ll be reprinting. When you’re ready, select the printer you would like to use from the “Printer” drop-down menu, and select the “print” button. Your forms and labels will be waiting at the printer selected. This implementation is highly customizable to fit any company’s reprinting needs.

The Reprint App is an application built with Minisoft’s activeFORMz. activeFORMz is an extension to eDIRECT+ that enables eFORMz projects to be used to deliver content to Web/GUI applications and/or Web Services while also processing input from these types of applications. activeFORMz can be used to design your own interactive forms fill-in applications. Once built, these applications can be deployed in a standard web browser or used with Minisoft’s eREADER content viewer.

activeFORMz can be used to create web services which can:

  • Deliver eFORMz generated content in a variety of formats (jpeg, gif, tiff, pdf, or xml)

  • Execute eFORMz/eDIRECT+ based processes, such as print, e-mail, pdf file generation, and database updates

  • Submit input data to the Director’s input queues for processing
